That was the advice Tanya’s mom gave her when she was young. It’s ingenious advice and Tanya has followed it her whole life!
Born in Canada, Tanya moved to the US 7 years ago. She started her Network Marketing business in 2009, and prior to that, she had been a Financial Specialist for 6 years.
On paper, that sounded great. Yes, Tanya’s finance job was well-paid and she had a nice office, but she was working 12 hours a day, 6 days a week… She felt exhausted and unfulfilled…
Then one day, a friend of hers called her up for a home presentation. She went to her friend’s house feeling skeptical. And the presentation she saw didn’t help her attitude. But when the presenters started talking about the scale and possibilities, Tanya immediately saw the incredible opportunity hidden behind a poorly-delivered presentation.
Tanya understood that these people were showing her the path to success. And all she had to do was follow it!
The 2 BIG Issues With Network Marketing
#1: It’s too cheap to get started
It’s a psychological fact that when we get something that’s cheap or easy to attain, we assign a lesser value to it. We don’t take it as seriously.
And that’s what happened to Tanya in the beginning.
Yes, she started her Network Marketing business but she didn’t take it seriously. Her 1st year, she wasn’t investing a lot of time or energy into it, and the results reflected that.
But what she soon realized was that Network Marketing is a business. And you can’t give up the first month or the first year, just because it’s not bringing in the results you expected. It needs time to grow. And eventually, it will reward you for your patience and perseverance!
#2: People forget the “marketing” part of it
When Tanya started getting serious about her business, she realized she knew nothing about Marketing. Sure, she was good at creating networks… But how was she supposed to rock a Network Marketing business without the Marketing?
That’s when she took her business online and decided to learn everything she could about digital marketing. Because here’s the thing — Tanya knew there were people online who were looking for what she had to offer. So it made sense to her to show her products and opportunity to those people rather than to go up to strangers and hope they would be interested.
That decision changed the name of the game!
Tanya’s results skyrocketed! Sure, it took time and a lot of effort. But over the past 4 years, Tanya has managed to create the lifestyle of her dreams. She works on average 3 hours/day and has the freedom to travel, meet with people from all over the world and work on projects that she loves!
System = Save YourSelf Time, Energy and Money
Successful businesses operate of systems. That’s just the way things go and that’s what Tanya realized early on. Because if you don’t have a system that’s working for you, you have no leverage. And if you have no leverage, you have no life because you’ll constantly need to hustle.
That’s why Tanya has dedicated a huge chunk of her time to helping others create the best system to support the lifestyle that they want to have!

That’s right! Tanya learned this very important lesson from Todd Falcone, who taught her all about the Socioeconomic Ladder.
Basically, the ladder is a scale from 1 to 10, 1 being “No one knows who I am” and 10 being “Everyone knows me and they’ll do what I tell them to”.
Most people who’re just starting out in Network Marketing won’t be a 9 or a 10. If you yourself are a 6, what happens is that you’d feel uncomfortable talking to a 7. So you’d try to recruit someone who’s a 5. Then that 5 would go and recruit a 4, and so on. Before you know it, your team will be growing but it won’t have the influence you want it to. So what can you do?
Leverage your upline and leaders! Use their skills to recruit someone who’s more influential than you! That’s the fastest way to grow your business like a PRO!
Proactive vs Reactive Mindset
What kind of a leader do you want to be? Do you want to be one of those leaders who’s making a lot of money but is exhausted all the time? Or would you rather be happy with the life you’re living while still earning a lot of money?
If you chose the 2nd option, we’ve got great news for you! Because it’s ALL possible! All you have to do is have a Proactive mindset rather than Reactive!
When you have a Reactive mindset, you just deal with whatever’s thrown at you.
But when you have a Proactive mindset, you take charge of your life. Being proactive basically means setting up your business properly with systems that can support your lifestyle. That’s it! It’s that simple!
