5 Steps to Grow Your Business on Social Media
Step #1: Prospect & Build a Personal Brand
This is probably the most important step out of all of them. Why? Because if you don’t master this one, the others become irrelevant. And this step is divided into 2 parts.
Part 1: Prospecting
What does prospecting mean? It means that you’re consistently reaching out to people to find out if they’re open to your product or opportunity, and being ok with “rejection”.
That’s the hardest part. No one likes to be rejected. But here’s the thing – the yeses and the successes don’t build your business. You’re not going to get good if everyone says yes all the time.
So how do you learn? Through the no’s and the rejection! That’s why you need to be ok with someone saying, “That’s not for me”, or ,“I’m not interested”, and not take it personally. Ask yourself, “I got rejected… What can I learn from this experience? And what can I do differently next time?” It’s the best way to grow!
Part 2: Building Your Personal Brand
Not the biggest fan of prospecting? We’ve got just the thing — Attraction Marketing! Because if you can attract people and build an audience that knows, likes and trusts you, you’re never going to have to worry about finding people to talk to, having to do cold calls or running ads.
And here’s the thing — Attraction Marketing can feel nerve-wracking as well. You’re putting yourself out there and you’re exposing yourself to people who might not like you. But think of yourself as a magnet — you’re going to attract some people but repel others. And that’s all right. The only way to truly fail is to try and please everyone!
PRO Tip: Most people won’t join you or buy from you the 1st time you talk to them. They won’t buy on the 2nd or even the 5th time. It’s all about staying in touch, planting seeds and building up your credibility. So how do you do that? Show up consistently, do videos, provide value, share your story, and be yourself!
Step #2: Connect
Once you’re started prospecting and attracting your people, you need to connect to them, so you can start building trust.
Ask questions and pay close attention to what people are saying. Build some rapport with them and then pop the question!
IMP: Don’t go straight for the jugular and don’t spend too much time building rapport. Find the balance between asking just enough questions to get the conversation going and finding the right time to transition. In the beginning, it might be hard to spot those moments but you’ll get better over time.
Step #3: Invite to “See the Opportunity”
What’s your system for exposure?
We use the ATM System. It stands for Add, Tag, Message.
How it works is, we Add people to a Private Facebook Group, Tag them in a video or post we want them to watch/read, and then we send them a Message such as: “Hey, Pam. I added you to one of our secret communities, so you can learn more about our products and opportunities. I’m super excited for you to take a look at the information. When will you be able to watch the video I tagged you in?”
Our main goal is for them to take a look at a tool. As someone once said, “Don’t be a fool, use a tool!”
Why do we like to let a video or a post do the explaining for us? Because having to explain the information ourselves takes a lot of time and it’s not something a brand new person would be comfortable with. In other words, it’s not duplicatable.
Step #4: Follow up and Close
The best thing you can do when you follow up and close prospects is to get yourself out of the way. Why? Because even if you’re the best closer in the world, most people won’t be able to duplicate that or they might feel intimidated and not join in at all.
So what do we do? Once you’ve ATMed a prospect, you can follow up with:
- “Hey, Pam, I know you said you watch the video last night. What did you like best?”
Always ask your prospects why they liked the product or opportunity. Never assume you know their answer because people have different reasons.

PRO Tip: Add People to Group Chats
Do you want a better closing ratio? Then do a Group Chat! Add 2-4 leaders in a Group Chat with your prospect.
For example, if you’re talking to Debbie about your product or opportunity and she says she’s interested, you can say, “That’s awesome! I also want to introduce you to a couple of other leaders I’m working with!”
Why is this so effective? Because a) it gives them the chance to see different people with various backgrounds who are crushing it and b) leaders sometimes get overwhelmed and they can’t respond to every chat right away, so the message gets buried in their inbox. But when another leader responds, the chat goes back to the top, so it’s easier to see. Plus, you’ll ensure that someone will engage with your prospect as fast as possible.
Step #5: Plug Your People Into The System
SYSTEM stands for Save YourSelf Time, Energy and Money!
And what’s the system? It’s the previous 4 steps we just covered! Because if you can help other people have success and they learn the previous 4 steps, you will have true freedom. Not just an income but freedom to literally travel the beaches of the world, spend time with your family and enjoy your life!
IMP: These steps are simple but they’re not easy. Every beginning is hard but it’s important to embrace the suck. Don’t get bitter, get better!
