Did you know that almost 1.7 billion Facebook & Instagram accounts use Stories every single day? In other words, Stories are becoming more and more popular. So if you want to take advantage of the benefits the feature offers, you need to jump on them right away!
But what is the main benefit of doing Stories?
Stories are the perfect tool to go deeper with your audience! It doesn’t matter if you’re building a network marketing business or a regular online business, the foundation of your success lies in the creation, cultivation, and growth of the relationships with your followers.
That’s why inside this training, we’ll talk about how to keep your Instagram & Facebook Stories viewers engaged! So let’s get right to it!
Facebook & Instagram Stories – 4 Essential Tips To Keep Viewers Engaged
Before we get into the really juicy details, we need to get one thing straight. Stories are available for 24 hours only. That creates the FOMO effect (fear of missing out), so people have the urgency to click and see what’s going on.
What’s more, Stories are a place to build a deeper connection with the people who follow you. You can test out different conversations and see what your audience responds to the best!
And even if you want to show up and provide valuable tips and tricks, you can break up your Stories and post five times throughout the day. For example, you can post a couple of tips in the morning, and then a couple of more — a few hours later. That way Instagram & Facebook will see that you have new content, so it will push it to the front of the list for people to see!
Tip #1: Quality Over Quantity
Do you have a business account on Instagram? Check your insights and see which posts and Stories performed the best.
We challenge you to go back once a month and review the content you’ve put up to identify what has worked really well. Then you can then repeat it or build up on it.
Pro Tip: You can also archive your best story clips into “Highlights”. How cool is that?
Once you see what’s worked really, really well, then you can zoom in on those quality pieces of content and you can keep spinning those out! Because you want to create content that people will want to stay and watch!
Tip #2: Be Cohesive
Make sure your message stays consistent. If a brand new person starts following you, and they watch your Stories, will they understand what they’re all about? And will they know who you are?
You don’t have to repeat yourself but you do need to figure out different ways in which you can reintroduce yourself and what your message is all about!
Tip #3: Spark Engagement
Think of Stories as a way to start a conversation with your audience. Here are a few ideas you can test out:
- Post a picture of two outfits and ask people to vote which one they like better
- While you’re shopping for shoes, for example, ask people if they like the pair you’re thinking to buy
- Ask for a recommendation for a good book…
- Do a poll or use “ask a question” feature
Anything that will make people want to pause on your Story and interact!
Here’s a beautiful strategy you should play with: create curiosity about your products! It’s much easier to do promotions in Stories because you can say things that maybe you wouldn’t post publicly.
For example, you could ask questions like:
- Have you tried a diet before?
- Would you like deets on this product promotion?
Give them two different responses that both would get you to reach out to them. For example, one option could be “yes” and the other one could be “duh, of course!”
Tip #4: Make Your Stories Visually Engaging
Use stickers or animations. You can even use your finger to write something interesting on top of your Story!
Your main goal should be to pique people’s curiosity. A Story comes and goes very fast. So you want to give a little hint of what your clip is all about, so people would want to pause and see!
BONUS TIP: Ideas for Stories
Here are some genius ideas that you can use to keep your viewers engaged!
#1: Pay attention to what people are asking you. If you hear the same question more than twice, it’s a universal sign for you to share about it.
#2: Share something valuable, like what apps you are using.
#3: Do simple How-To tutorials.
#4: Showcase funny parenting/marriage moments.
#5: Share what you’re doing at the moment — what book are you reading, what movie are you watching, what song are you listening to?
The cool thing about Stories is that people really start to see your personality. And then next thing you know, you go to a birthday party or to a family gathering, and you notice that people are looking at you differently. They go, “Wow, I’ve been watching your Stories and you’ve been crushing it!” That’s how you create results!
