We’re OBSESSED when it comes to efficiency and not wasting time.
Do you feel like you struggle with time management and work-life balance?
In our 20s, we definitely worked our faces off. We sacrificed everything. Our mentors used to say that we should work “eight to faint” and we did! We would work on our business all day, every day!
But… eventually, we became parents, and we realized the importance of having balance and having a structure in place. Because if you find yourself feeling guilty that you’re not spending time with your kids when you’re working on your business or the other way around, then you need to get some clarity.
That’s why inside this training, we’ll share with you the key to our work-life balance and the 6 effective time management tips that we use and that actually work!
Let’s get right to it!
Work-Life Balance: 6 Effective Time Management Tips that Actually Work
Tip #1: Get Organized
Plan your day. Have some type of routine and organization in your day. You can’t just wing it.
In fact, before we had a real routine and structure to our schedule, we used to plan out our week on Sundays. That was also back in the offline days when we were on the phone and we were doing meetings every night and every weekend.
Why do you need all that? Because it helps you get disciplined, focus on your priorities, and decide what’s important!
Tip #2: Identify Your Legacy
If you’re struggling with setting priorities and getting your vision dialed in, take a couple of steps back and identify your legacy. What is the most important thing to you?
Gary Vaynerchuk talks about how he has one day in mind, and that’s his funeral. So what do you want to be remembered for? Visualize the end and plan around it. We don’t have forever. Time is so finite.
So if this was your last day, when you look back at your life, what do you want to be proud of?
Tip #3: Work in Seasons
There will be different seasons of your life. There’s going to be a season where you go all out and you master how to make money and get your business done. And that’s all right.
Identify right now, what is the number one thing that’s bringing you the most amount of anxiety every day. Then, troubleshoot it.
Your business is a marathon. It’s not a sprint. But you’re going to do it in sprints (a.k.a. seasons). So, if you identify that for example, your number one anxiety is prospecting, then, create a system around it. Invest some time and energy, and potentially, money to learn that skillset, so you can bulletproof your anxiety.
And don’t be so hard on yourself. Remember to give yourself grace.

Tip #4: Delegate
Time is money, so get clear on what you can delegate to others to get you out of the “weeds”. Cutting the grass? Doing the laundry? Cleaning the house? Organizing those receipts? Managing your email inbox? Those are all things that need to be done. But they don’t require your talent and sometimes we do them because we simply procrastinate on what’s important.
And procrastination is the thief of opportunity. Same with perfectionitis. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to crush it in your health, in your business, in your relationships, and in your parenting. But figure out how you can delegate and outsource the things that don’t make you money, especially if you don’t enjoy doing them!
That’s the millionaire mindset. You have the same hours in the day as Oprah Winfrey, Elon Musk, or any other successful person. What are they doing differently and what are the most important things that you could do every day to move your business forward?
Crazy Effective Clarity Exercise:
If you haven’t done this exercise yet, we want to really encourage you to do it because it’s legit eye-opening. Seriously, you think you know but you don’t. Once you follow through these steps, you’ll see what we mean.
- Get a blank piece of paper and write down everything you do from Monday morning until Sunday night. Jot it ALL down: life, work, kids; even the smallest of tasks.
- Highlight 2-3 of those activities that are what we call, income-producing activities.
- Use a different color and highlight the activities that do not bring you joy. Now you should see clearly activities that you should outsource. Remember, you only have so much bandwidth!
- Identify the things you can, for the time being, put on hold, and focus your energy specifically on whatever season you’re in. Whether it’s making a little extra money or replacing your full-time income.
You have to really get into the nitty-gritty. Then, finally, create a schedule for every single day and stick to it, no matter what!
Tip #5: Set Realistic but Exciting Expectations
It’s important to set realistic expectations. Don’t overwhelm yourself by having 15-20 things on your to-do list and stressing yourself every night because you have so much.
Don’t bite more than you can chew. You need to pace yourself because you can only do so much. That’s why we were talking about those money-making activities. Don’t read for 3 hours/day when your business isn’t even earning you a check with a comma because you’ll get stuck in procrastination mode. Let’s focus more on taking action!
But at some point, maybe when you’re a full-time network marketer or a full-time entrepreneur, you’ll have the time to read. You could wake up a little earlier, stay up a little later and find a way to squeeze in that personal development.
That’s why it’s crucial to get real clarity on what’s most important. What is the thing that’s going to drive your business forward?
PRO Tip: Treat it like a job. If you’re part-time, then you have to have part-time hours, for example from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, every night. If you picked up a job bartending, wouldn’t you have to be there at a certain time and stay until the work was done? So show up consistently, even when you don’t feel like it.
Tip #6: Align with Your Best Energy
Another thing we found is that you have to figure out when you have the best energy and align those income-producing activities with that.
For example, we like to get our most important tasks done in the late am – early pm because that’s when we do our best work. What time of the day are you the most creative or most energized? Are you a morning person? A night person?
And… you have to become very aware of what snags your energy and then you have to protect yourself from those people or tasks. Got it? The most important asset you have is you. Take care of yourself and be very protective of your energy.
The Work-Life Balance
Balancing is like having a lot of balls in the air. Some balls are made of glass, like your health, your children, your spouse.
Coca Cola’s Former CEO, Bryan Dyson, said it best:
Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. They are Work, Family, Health, friends and Spirit and you’re keeping all of these in the air.
You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four Balls – Family, Health, Friends and Spirit – are made of glass. If you drop one of these they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for it.
Work efficiently during office hours and leave on time. Give the required time to your family, friends & have proper rest.
You don’t want an “or” life. No, you want an “and” life. You want to be a millionaire and go to your son’s baseball games. It’s all possible!
That’s why you need to be crazy protective of your time and energy. You control your time, you decide to start that business, you decide to get out of that toxic relationship. It’s a choice. And when you realize you have more control over your time, when you make that decision, that enough is enough, and you’re going to show with posture to the marketplace, you’re going to make an impact and make a difference, something incredible is going to happen!
